Binti Makini Festival is the platform that started in 2020 and aimed to bring together youth from different universities to learn, discuss, network, share experiences, and find solutions to the challenges affecting the young generation including gender equality, employment, leadership, Health issues, GBV, technology, and innovation.
This year Binti Makini Festival conducted 19TH Nov 2022 at the University of Dar es Salaam where more than 600 youth from 20 Universities and colleges were participated. The theme of this year is GIRLS POWER IN INNOVATION.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics (2020), it is estimated that each year in Tanzania 700,000 graduates enter the labour market but only 40,000 (5.7%) are employed.
Objectives;-
- To create a friendly space for knowledge sharing.
- To encourage girls to participate in leadership positions.
- To create a sense of innovation and creativity.
- To increase networking and connection.
- To meet with development partners.
